Watch List OLB gaining Big Ten interest

By Chantel Jennings

Watch List outside linebacker Brandon Lee (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) grew up in the heart of Big Ten territory, so when college offers and interest started rolling in from Big Ten schools, Lee couldn’t have been happier.

“The Big Ten, I’ve been watching it all my life, it has always been around me,” Lee said. “The Big Ten has always been good football. Every year you watch it it’s consistently good football.”

Lee boasts six offers (Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Ball State, Kentucky, Louisville) and has seen plenty of Big Ten traffic from coaches’ in-school visits over the past few weeks. Michigan State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Northwestern, OSU, Purdue, Illinois and Indiana have all been in to see the 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect.

Lee has also gone out to see coaches. Last weekend he went to Indiana and he has another trip scheduled for this upcoming weekend. On top of that, he’s branching outside of the Big Ten to take a junior day visit to Louisville next month.

He’ll be competing at the NFTC in Massillon on Feb. 18 and will talk with college coaches to find out which schools he should camp at in order to get more playing time in front of coaches.
