Three-star Lingafelter makes final decision
By Jared Shanker
With a final two of Miami (Ohio) and West Virginia, Chagrin Falls (Ohio) Grant Lingafelter said Sunday a decision could come as late as signing day. It ended up coming less than 48 hours later.
The three-star offensive tackle flipped from Miami to West Virginia on Tuesday, he told ESPN.com in a text message.
“The facilities, you can’t beat that. The campus is nice, a Big 12 campus and school,” Lingafelter said Sunday. “Football is big-time. The academics are what you make of it. I just got to make the most out of my education."
Lingafelter was offered by the Mountaineers in mid-January and immediately set up a visit to Morgantown for the weekend of Jan. 25. Following the visit, he said he would sit down with his coach and family and hash out a decision, but had no timetable.
The Mountaineers have 24 commitments in their 2013 class but Lingafelter is only the fourth pledge along the offensive line.
