Three-star WR Barr flips commit after visit
By Corey Long
Cincinnati took in a surprise visitor this past weekend, hosting wide receiver Mark Barr (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) on an official visit. The 6-foot, 175-pound senior was committed to Marshall but had a great visit to the Queen City.
And on Monday, Barr flipped his commitment and says he will sign with the Bearcats in two weeks.
“It was a good trip; coach [Eddie] Gran had been talking to me for a while,” Barr explained. “When I got there, it was everything I wanted to see in a college program.”
Barr, who committed to Marshall in late November, went on to help St. Thomas Aquinas win a Class 7A state championship in mid-December. He quietly opened up his recruitment after that win.
“I wanted to look around one more time and see what other options I had,” Barr added. “Cincinnati contacted me, and now I’m committed there.”
Barr finished his senior season with 32 catches and 719 yards.
