Watch List WR reopens recruitment

By Tom VanHaaren

It's the season of decommitments and prospects re-opening their recruitment for the 2013 class, but now a 2014 Watch List prospect has decided to reopen his recruitment and will consider a handful of top programs nationally.

Wide receiver Drake Harris (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) is still committed to Michigan State, but he will now consider other programs.

"I'm still committed, but I'm also looking at Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Florida State," he said.

Initially Harris had committed to Michigan State to play both basketball and football for the Spartans, but now says he will only focus on football at the college level.

"I just talked to Coach [Tom] Izzo and told him that I'm planning on just playing football," he said. "I talked to coach [Mark] Dantonio and told him I'm still committed there, but I'm opening up my recruitment. I'm starting to look at more of the bigger football schools since I'm just playing football now."

Harris had been thinking about making this decision for quite some time, and at 6-foot-4 has a bright future as a wide receiver.
