A tight end who has been an Ohio State commit since April 10, Baugh caught 38 passes for 610 yards and added four scores this season for the Huskies. As a junior, he made 30 catches for 528 yards and added seven scores.
His high school coach lauded his linebacker skills as well, proving that Baugh is more than just a one-trick pony.
An intimidating receiver with soft hands to go along with his quick feet, he certainly can follow former Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner and move to wide receiver if the Buckeyes have a need there. The 6-foot-4, 229-pound senior has a 40-yard dash time of 4.6 seconds. With three tight ends in the fold ahead of Baugh at Ohio State and several of wide receivers already in the mix, it might be tough for the incoming freshmen to find playing time. That said, Urban Meyer doesn’t like to redshirt many players, so a spot on special teams is an attainable goal.
Baugh joins Buckeyes commits Cam Burrows, Jalin Marshall, Gareon Conley and Bosa as Under Armour All-Americans who will play in St. Petersburg, Fla. Here are the ESPN 150 tight end’s thoughts on the Under Armour Game, which will be played Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN:
BN: What do you hope to accomplish at the Under Armour Game?
Baugh: I just want to see the level of competition I will be playing next year.
BN: Which prospect that you’ve never met do you want to meet and why?
Baugh: I want to meet Joey Bosa because me, him and Ezekiel [Elliott] always text and it’s always funny.
BN: What’s the best advice you’ve received going into the Under Armour Game?
Baugh: Just go out and have fun. Football has to be fun and I think if you’re having fun, you’re playing well.
