Four-star athlete David Perkins (South Bend, Ind./Washington) will no longer officially visit Michigan State this weekend, he confirmed in a text messagae to ESPN.com.
Perkins recently named a top five of LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State and Tennessee and those would be his five official visits. But that group of five has grown since he officially visited Missouri this past weekend. Michigan has picked up interest in Perkins as a running back, and Oregon is back in the mix after sitting near the top of Perkins' leaderboard for a while.
Much like Michigan, Pittsburgh is making a late charge with Perkins, but the news of Todd Graham abruptly leaving for the Arizona State job has left them in a holding pattern. Perkins will wait to see which coaches remain on board when a new head coach is named before crossing the Panthers off his list.
