Cincinnati Moeller heard about its defensive shortcomings all season. A squad that gave up 42 points or more three times in the regular season knew all about Toledo Whitmer’s prolific offense as well.

A squad that averaged 43.9 points and 405 yards per game, the Panthers were supposed to come in and wipe the floor with the Crusaders.

A funny thing happened on the way to Moeller’s Division I state championship title as the defense was the reason Whitmer fell in a 20-12 thriller.
