St. Vincent-St. Mary (Ohio) coach Dan Boarman wasn’t sure what he had in Parris Campbell Jr. and Newman Williams to start the season. After Saturday’s 42-21 Division III state championship win over Bellevue, he knows he’s got speed and power coming back with the two Division I prospects.
Campbell rushed for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 14-carry afternoon. Williams was the topic of discussion long after the game was over, as he had 2 touchdowns on three carries with 51 yards rushing, including one incredible fake punt rumble.
“It’s a speed/power thing,” Campbell said. “It’s a two-headed monster. I’m lucky enough to have the speed. You definitely saw the power from Newman. It’s a great thing to have.”
