Jeff Jones might be the headliner of the two Minneapolis Washburn running backs to visit Iowa on Saturday, but that does not mean the Hawkeyes were not happy to see Raymonte Maynard, too. The junior did average more than 10 yards per carry this past season.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back and Jones’ teammate, Maynard rushed 78 times for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns this past season. The Hawkeyes are one of several teams interested in Maynard, who is also hearing from Iowa State, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri and Northern Illinois.
Saturday was his second time visiting Iowa City.
