Purdue latest to offer Dareian Watkins

If Danny Hope was checking his mail, then Purdue would have been the first team to catch wind of 2014 Galion (Ohio) athlete Dareian Watkins.
During Watkins' freshman season, a neighbor of his began writing letters to the Purdue coaching staff. The neighbor, a 1957 Purdue graduate, told the Boilermakers to offer the 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete as a freshman and get a head start on his recruitment.
While Watkins did not get an offer then, the Boilermakers did come through with an offer on Tuesday.
