The recruitment of Copley (Ohio) running back Aregeros Turner has been relatively quiet, which is not a surprise considering how soft-spoken the three-star prospect is.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Turner does have a top five, though. Cincinnati, Illinois, Purdue, Tennessee and Toledo make up Turner’s top group.
Cincinnati was the latest to come through with an offer for Turner, who picked it up at the end of September. He has kept in contact with Bearcats running backs coach Roy Manning since the offer.
“They’re telling me they want me a lot, the head coach [Butch Jones] likes me and wants me to come down for a visit,” Turner said.
Turner will oblige, as he is scheduled to visit Cincinnati on Nov. 3. He plans on it being an unofficial visit.
The weekend before his Cincinnati offer, Turner made an unofficial visit to Illinois for the Penn State game on Sept. 29. He enjoyed the trip but was disappointed in the outcome -- a blowout at the expense of the Illini.
“It was good. The coaches like me a lot. They have nice facilities and everything,” Turner said.
Cincinnati and Illinois are at the top of Turner’s group of five favorites.
Turner wants to take official visits to all five schools after his season.
