Running back Aregeros Turner (Akron, Ohio/Copley) has four offers already, but his early favorite is still evaluating him.
“Cincinnati,” Turner responded when asked who he is favoring. “They tell my coach I’m their No. 1 running back on their recruiting list. It’s a good school. I wouldn’t mind going there, and when their coach came to visit me it wasn’t hard to talk about stuff.”
Toledo is the latest program to offer Turner with the Rockets extending an offer around two weeks ago on a visit to Copley.
Turner is somewhat familiar with the program as he made a short visit to Toledo for its spring game. However, he was only able to stay for the first quarter.
Still, the attention he received from the coaches and players impressed him. What stood out most to Turner was “just how when I came all the coaches introduced themselves and all the players walked past us motivating us to keep working hard.”
Illinois, Tennessee and Washington are Turner’s remaining three offers. He speaks with Illinois about once a month and rarely with the Vols’ and Huskies’ coaches. Huskies assistant coach Peter Sirmon recruited Turner while at Tennessee and is now recruiting him for Washington.
Turner could see a sharp rise in offers next month while on the Raw Talent bus tour, which will take a number of Cleveland- and Akron-area prospects to a series of college camps.
