Michigan State, Pitt offer Glenville athlete

5/4/2012

Cleveland Glenville has traditionally sent its top prospects to Ohio State, but Michigan State and Pittsburgh are hoping to change that with its latest offer.

While visiting the school Friday morning, Spartans defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi extended an offer to Christopher Worley. Pitt also stopped by and offered, Worley wrote in a text message.

A 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete, Worley will likely play either linebacker or safety in college. However, he has put the recruiting process on hold for now as he prepares for his senior season.

“His frame is ridiculous,” Glenville assistant Tony Overton said in an interview last week. “He plays linebacker for us but might end up being a college safety. He’s a real rangy guy, definitely a guy who gets to the ball. He’s got some [Ohio State signee and former Glenville safety] De’Van Bogard in him. He could look like a LaRon Landry type.”

Arkansas, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Ohio State and West Virginia have also offered Worley.
