First-year Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has targeted the Midwest with offers throughout the winter and spring months, and the emphasis has produced its first positive return with a commitment from an Indiana prospect.
Four-star safety Antonio Allen (Indianapolis/Ben Davis) committed to the Rebels on Thursday, he confirmed in a text message to ESPN.com. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound junior is ranked No. 17 among safeties nationally and as the sixth-best player overall in Indiana.
Regarded as one of the hardest-hitting prospects in the Midwest, Allen will likely more of an in-the-box safety when he arrives at Ole Miss.
