You always want what you can't have.
That was the case with three-star juco safety Isaiah Johnson (Cary, N.C./Iowa Western CC), who saw a lot more interest following a commitment to Kansas on Dec. 11.
A few days later, Illinois came through with an offer and made a push for Johnson to flip to the Illini, or at the least take an official visit. Appalachian State also made a late offer, and the North Carolina native Johnson considered visiting both, but he said he will not anymore.
"I cancelled all my visits with those schools," Johnson said.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Johnson is one of 17 juco commitments for Kansas, which has a total of 24. He is not a January enrollee for the Jayhawks, however.
