Although the result is not what Penn State hoped for, from a recruiting standpoint the weekend can be looked at as a success for the Nittany Lions. In addition to the commitment from Richy Anderson, Penn State made an impression on several recruits.
Penn State will need to rely heavily on walk-ons, and two guys who might fit that mold are Jake Plonski and William Houston. Plonski is a middle linebacker who might have more looks if not for a knee injury suffered just before his junior season. Houston is the No. 2 fullback nationally and liked what he saw from Zach Zwinak.
