Micky Crum (Columbus, Ohio/Hamilton Township) is not playing his cards close to the vest. The 2014 athlete is letting it be known who is favorite is following a weekend visit.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Crum made it to Wisconsin on Saturday and the Badgers are at the top of his list and they are his No. 1 school “by far.”
“I loved everything about Wisconsin: the fans, coaches, campus, the players but what I loved most was the tradition and how live the games are,” Crum said. “… What I was most impressed about was how many sellouts they have and how supportive the fans were and the team was like a big family, which is also a great thing.”
The Badgers like Crum as a tight end, and the staff told Crum he is at the top of the recruiting board at the position because of his versatility.
“They said I fit in perfect cause I can do it all cause I’m an athlete so they said they could put me or use me anywhere,” Crum said.
Assistant coach Zach Azzanni, who recruits central Ohio, and Crum already have a strong bond.
“Coach Z said I’m everything they’re looking for,” Crum said. “He said it’s because I love everything about the game of football.”
Crum worked his way onto the Badgers’ radar this summer during a camp. This week, the Badgers will stop by Crum’s school to take a look at his academics, which Crum said “are good right now.”
An offer could come the next time he is on campus, Crum said, and if it does, it could spell the end of his recruitment.
