Carl Lint keeping close eye on Ohio

Carl Lint (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) is watching with an interested eye every time Ohio University squares off in an incredible season.

The 5-foot-11, 145-pound slot receiver keeps tabs on the Bobcats and is enamored even though the school’s dream undefeated season came to end Saturday.

With interest from Indiana, Ohio and Toledo, things keeping coming up Bobcats for the versatile Lint.

“I definitely like to see them play,” Lint said. “They’re playing well right now. The fact they haven’t lost [until Saturday] will just bring more talent to the team.”

Lint hopes he’s part of that talent and his numbers don’t lie. As his Bears (9-1) enter the Division I postseason, Lint has 741 yards rushing on 109 carries with 4 touchdowns. As a receiver, he’s made 43 catches for 720 yards with 5 more scores.

It has the town in a fervor as North Royalton has reached the playoffs for just the third time in school history. Even Cleveland Browns return specialist/wide receiver Josh Cribbs -- a North Royalton resident -- has gotten in on the action, showing up at games with fellow teammates Greg Little and Joe Haden.

The team’s success is causing a conundrum Lint doesn’t mind as OU games and an official visit have to take a backseat to Bears practices right now. But Lint knows he’s not missing much because OU is a school he already loves.

“The whole school is great,” Lint said. “When I was there for an academic visit, you could see everyone getting along. It’s just a great atmosphere. They were in a bowl game last year, so I thought they’d be solid, but I didn’t expect them to be doing what they’re doing. To see it all is great.”
