Now, the St. Vincent-St. Mary tandem is looking to the next level and has favorites. For Hargrove (51 catches, 781 yards, 10 touchdowns) it’s a laundry list of schools with interest, while Bickley (27-592, 6 TDs) has Mid-American Conference schools looking at him as well.
Hargrove, who passed LeBron James as the school’s career reception leader (101) on Friday, has an offer from Eastern Illinois and interest from schools like Cincinnati, Illinois, Miami (Ohio), NC State and West Virginia.
It’s Ball State, however, that seems to have the inside track on the 5-foot-11, 176-pound senior.
“I talk to them all the time,” Hargrove said. “I just like how I feel when I talk to the coaches. They’re straight forward with me. They’ve come to my games and seem very interested. An offer from them would be everything.”
Bickley’s 5-6, 130-pound frame doesn’t help in the recruiting process, but he’s lightning fast as Akron, Kent State and Toledo are evaluating him.
And it's the university literally in St. Vincent-St. Mary’s backyard that has the eye of the senior wideout.
“I just like the coaches,” said Bickley of Akron. “Coach [John] Pont and Coach [Terry] Bowden, I talk to them every week and would like to get to a game. An offer would mean quite a bit.”
Jordan Hargrove (Akron, Ohio/ St. Vincent-St. Mary) and teammate Fransohn Bickley have been showing up big for the Fighting Irish for the better part of two seasons.
