How would most quarterbacks fare after losing their top target and one of the country’s best receivers? Probably nowhere near as well as Andrew Ford (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) has.
The junior quarterback Ford lost the nation’s No. 1 tight end, Adam Breneman, for the season to an ACL tear back in the summer. The southpaw signal-caller has responded with a 2-0 start in which he leads central Pennsylvania in passing yards (578) and touchdowns (10). In Cedar Cliff’s Week 2 win, Ford threw for seven touchdowns and rushed for another.
“Obviously we miss Adam and wish he was out there … but we run the spread and spread it around so it’s an advantage (the defense) can’t key on one person,” Ford said.
