Jordan Hargrove (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) is expecting the avalanche to start.
The senior wide receiver bided his time with interest from over 15 schools, but didn’t get that offer he’d been holding out for.
Schools like West Virginia, Cincinnati, Michigan, Missouri and Iowa flirted with the 5-foot-11, 176-pound Hargrove, but it was nothing more than interest.
Then Eastern Illinois stepped up with an offer and Hargrove felt like he could relax for a second.
“It feels like hard work pays off, but you want to get more once you get that first one,” Hargrove said. “For sure, the offers will hopefully start coming.”
Hargrove posted a seven-catch, 138-yard, two-touchdown performance in Week 2 after opening the season with a seven-catch, 111-yard, one-touchdown outing.
He’s keen on the aforementioned five with interest and hopes two weeks worth of tape will bring the offers he’s looking for.
“They (West Virginia, Cincinnati, Michigan, Missouri and Iowa) send me the most letters, so I think they’re the most interested,” Hargrove said. “Hopefully, I get that scholarship. That’s what I’m working for.”
