DETROIT -- One of the top juniors in the Midwest, Damon Webb (Detroit/Cass Tech) lived up to his billing on Saturday night.
In a game pitting two 2011 state champions, Webb forced a fumble, recovered two and sealed the win with a touchdown at the end.
“The last interception I was playing regular man coverage and the quarterback just underthrew it,” Webb said.
The 2014 cornerback has a top four of LSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. He plans to visit all four this season.
“I’m definitely going to the Michigan State-Boise State game. That’s probably the first one I’m going to,” Webb said.
There is a good chance a few of his teammates also make the visit, but Webb and Co. could show up a little late as Cass Tech plays just four hours before Michigan State kicks off against Boise State.
“I’m going to a lot of Michigan games, a lot of Michigan State games. A couple Ohio State games, and I’m going to try to get to an LSU game if I can,” Webb said.
Webb is not sure when he will visit those schools, but he is not in any rush to make visits or a decision. A couple of elite programs on each coast are close to offering, and Webb wants to see what happens with them and several other schools around the country.
“I’ve been hearing from Florida and USC,” he said. “… I’m sitting back and seeing what schools have to offer me and what other schools are going to offer me.”
