UPDATE: According to Derek Dieter, Gehrig's father, there was a miscommunication between he and his son. Gehrig is going to announce Jan. 3 at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. He won't make a final decision until after he takes all visits.
State and national record-breaking receiver Gehrig Dieter (South Bend, Ind./Washington) could be close to making a decision.
Dieter, a two-star receiver ranked 40th overall in Indiana, is favoring Southern Methodist and could pull the trigger sometime over the next few weeks, Derek Dieter, Gehrig’s father, said.
