ANGOLA, Ind. – Things are beginning to heat up for versatile big man Johnny Daniels (Chicago/Foreman) on the recruiting front, as he earned his first offer and new interest in the last two weeks.
Northern Illinois extended a scholarship to Daniels recently. The offer is at defensive tackle, but the 6-foot-5, 245-pound junior can also play offensive line and showed enough athleticism to even play tight end.
“They came by the school to see workouts,” Daniels said. “… They like my foot speed, how loose I was, my agility, my explosiveness. One thing they said I have to work on is opening my hips more.”
