It is not often the Hurricanes will go after a prospect in Ohio. They may want to start doing it more often, as Miami (Fla.) leads for Cincinnati Moeller offensive tackle Alex Gall.
Gall revealed his top eight Thursday night in a text message to ESPN.com. In order, Gall's top group consists of Miami (Fla.), Wisconsin, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Duke.
"Well I just like the way the direction the coaches are taking the program and the need for linemen," Gall wrote. "I also have a great relationship with [offensive line] Coach [Art] Kehoe."
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Gall will visit the Hurricanes June 18-21. He is also planning to visit Wisconsin, which is the only program in Gall's top group yet to offer. He is unlikely to participate in any camps.
"(Wisconsin) is O-line University, a big-time program that has tradition and I like the staff there," he wrote. "But the interest could change if an offer is made."
Gall is planning a summer decision.
