Sitting at eight offers and having made visits to three programs, Jake Campos (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) is ready to take his recruitment into the summer. He will hold off on any more visits until then.
Illinois is the latest team to offer Campos after extending a scholarship offer on Saturday. Campos spoke with defensive line coach Keith Gilmore. The Fighting Illini’s recruitment of Campos picked up a few weeks ago with a number of letters to Campos’ school, but it was not until Saturday when he talked with the staff on the phone for the first time.
“From what I heard from our conversation he’s pretty awesome,” Campos said of Gilmore. “The way he talks is well-spoken, and he sounded really nice.”
