Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer defensive back Mark Meyers was committed to the hometown team, but his dream was to always play in the Big Ten. When Michigan State gave him that chance, he just could not pass it up, and the three-star safety committed to the Spartans.
"It was a little tough [decommitting from Toledo], but not that hard," Meyers said. "I always wanted to play in the Big Ten, and I got that opportunity, and you got to take them."
What really sold Meyers on Michigan State was the academic support staff. He plans to study recreational therapy.
