Running back Auston Anderson (Plano, Texas/West) committed Thursday to sign with the Northwestern Wildcats, multiple sources report. He is the second 2014 prospect from the Lone Star State to pick NU for 2014. Three-star safety Jordan Thomas (Klein, Texas/Collins) got the Wildcats' class started with his decision in December.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Anderson selected Northwestern over scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, California, Georgia Tech, Navy, Nebraska, Rice, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, Washington and Washington State.

ESPN believes that he possesses, "a sneaky extra gear... good feel as a zone runner... the ability to exploit smaller creases... very good balance and body control... naturally good leverage and a strong lower base."

Anderson, along with Northwestern's other ungraded commitments, will be included as part of ESPN's next rankings update. The Wildcats have eight verbals at this time.

When he got off the phone with Florida head coach Will Muschamp, 2015 offensive lineman Kyonta Stallworth (St. Clair Shores, Mich./South Lake) couldn't believe he just received an offer from the Gators.

It was the same feeling he got when UCLA extended an offer, and Stallworth is now realizing that he is slowly becoming a top prospect in his class.

Want to know where Solomon Thomas (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) will end up? Good luck with that.

Truth is, the ESPN Watch List defensive end is wide open with his recruiting process -- and by “wide open,” that doesn’t mean, in this case, that he has a favorite but is keeping it under wraps.

With his ties to the Buckeye State, first-year Tennessee coach Butch Jones is making a concerted effort in Ohio. The Volunteers hosted a target from the state earlier this week.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Michigan and Rutgers will be battling in the once-again redesigned Big Ten in the near future, but first the two programs could be going head to head for a 2014 recruit.

KJ Williams (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) has 10 offers but pegged Michigan and Rutgers as two programs standing out to him most.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver grew up liking the Wolverines, and Michigan was one of the first schools to offer Williams. He has built a solid relationship with the coaches already.
