There was a different feeling for three-star offensive tackle Christian Daimler (Houston/Stratford) walking around the Oklahoma campus this weekend.

It wasn’t his first time, but it was a much better time. Daimler made an unofficial visit with his father during the summer where Daimler admitted he fell in love with the Sooners.

OK, Oklahoma fans, take a deep breath and try to digest the last seven days in OU recruiting. The Sooners have gone from having 14 commits to 18 commits.

And it wasn’t just getting four pledges in seven days, it was where OU picked up the slack. It’s almost as if the coaches heard the cries of the fanbase asking for some tackles. The Sooners have delivered with two offensive tackles and two defensive tackles.

It started last Friday when three-star defensive tackle Kerrick Huggins (Dallas/Skyline) flipped from Texas A&M to OU.

Oklahoma assistant coach James Patton told three-star offensive tackle Christian Daimler (Houston/Stratford) to be patient.

Daimler made an unofficial visit to OU during the summer, and Patton told Daimler and his father that it might be a while until the Sooners got around to making their evaluation.

It did take a while, but it all worked out. OU offered Daimler on Tuesday night, and he flipped his commitment from Arizona State to OU on Wednesday night.

“I trusted Coach Patton and took him at his word,” Daimler said. “I couldn’t be happier that I did that.”

Daimler committed to the Sun Devils in the summer but said he fell in love with Norman, Okla., during his unofficial visit. He said the area exceeded his expectations.

Arizona State picked up its 13th offer early Thursday evening, as three-star offensive tackle Christian Daimler (Houston/Stratford) gave his verbal commitment.

Daimler, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound tackle, announced his commitment via social media. He tweeted, “Officially committed to play football at Arizona State University! #ForksUp”

Daimler is the first offensive lineman to join the Sun Devils’ 2013 recruiting class. He had additional offers from Colorado State, Texas State and Louisiana-Lafayette. Recruited by offensive line coach Bob Connelly, Daimler is the fifth Texan to pledge to Arizona State and head coach Todd Graham, who was in Texas along with running backs coach Larry Porter on Thursday.

Daimler is ranked No. 99 among offensive tackles nationally. He is ranked No. 149 in Texas.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- Texas A&M's final camp of the summer was for offensive linemen and defensive linemen, drawing a healthy mix of players from the 2013 class and underclassmen. Among the players present were two 2013 Aggies commitments from Heath, Texas -- Rockwall-Heath teammates Jay Arnold and Jordan Points.

Known as the "Bash Brothers," the pair of defensive linemen participated in the camp and have made it clear that there will be no wavering in their commitments.

"I've pretty much shut it down," said Arnold, a defensive end of his recruitment. "I don't talk to any coaches since I committed. I've pretty much told them all that I've shut it down and I'm not doing anything different, so there's really no point in contacting me."
