Senior kicker Adam Centers (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) was presented his honorary game jersey during the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football game jersey on Tuesday. The event, held at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas was part of the three-month American Family Insurance Selection Tour.
Centers is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance, which will be nationally televised at 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., on ESPN.
“Thank you to my friends and family for coming out,” Centers said. “Thank you to the Coppell staff, thank you to Under Armour for this opportunity and thank you to Coach Huff, who has always helped me. Thank you to my teammates because only I know how hard they work, and they know how hard I work.”
The experience, atmosphere and the chance to play with familiar players at his position made the Under Armour All-America Game an easy choice.
“I decided to accept the invitation because it will be a tremendous experience, and I know a few of the guys … especially the kickers and punters. I’m looking forward to the experience the most. I was at the game last year to watch it, and this year I’m going to be playing in it. Just the atmosphere of playing in a game that big … to be able to play football on ESPN is amazing because not that many people get this opportunity and I just want to make the most of it.” He said.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Centers is the 99th-ranked prospect in Texas and the No. 3 kicker in the country.
