2014 DB talks Michigan offer, junior days

By Damon Sayles

Ask ESPN Watch List safety Jamal Adams (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) about Michigan and two words instantly come out of his mouth.

“Charles Woodson,” he said. “Honestly, it’s the football tradition, and one of my favorite DBs, Woodson, played there. That’s big.”

Adams was rewarded with the chance to play in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Tuesday, as the Wolverines extended an offer. Michigan head coach Brady Hoke and offensive line coach Darrell Funk, Adams’ primary recruiting contact, were in Carrollton on Thursday.

Adams proved to be one of the top defensive backs in Texas, regardless of classification, during the 2012 season. He finished the year with 63 tackles and three interceptions. Adams also saw time sparingly as a running back, rushing for 239 yards and six touchdowns.

Adams said he is considering taking a visit to Michigan either during the spring or for an official visit. In the meantime, he’s preparing for Saturday. Adams will be at Baylor’s junior day and then attend Texas’ junior day on Feb. 23.
