LSU-pledged cornerback gets 22nd offer
By Damon Sayles
ESPN Watch List cornerback Chris Hardeman (Houston/Alief Taylor) has said on several occasions that he’s a staunch LSU commit. When he picked up the offer and committed in July, he practically shut his recruiting down.
Chris Hardeman says he's 100 percent committed to LSU, but will look into UCLA.
But even Hardeman knows there’s no crime in listening to the other schools, and on Tuesday, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound cornerback picked up an offer from a program he highly respects. Hardeman earned an offer from UCLA , his 22nd overall offer.
“It’s a great school,” Hardeman said of UCLA, “and the program is on the rise."
Bruins secondary coach Demetrice Martin extended the offer to Hardeman during a school visit. Hardeman said he will consider taking a visit to California for a campus tour.
As for switching his commitment, Hardeman doesn’t expect that to happen between now and February 2014, but he will keep his eyes and ears open.
“I’m still 100 percent committed to LSU,” he said, “but I will look into UCLA to see what they have to offer.”
