Anjeus Jones picks up Big 12 offer
By Damon Sayles
The plot thickens for wide receiver Anjeus Jones (Dallas/South Oak Cliff).
After originally committing to New Mexico State two weeks ago, then switching his commitment to Colorado State last week, Jones has something new to consider -- playing in the Big 12.
It’s a good problem to have. In fact, it’s something he’s always wanted.
Jones received an offer from Texas Tech on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver, recruited by outside receivers coach Sonny Cumbie, said he will take an official visit to Lubbock, Texas, this weekend.
“When he offered me, it was a blessing. I was just so thankful,” Jones said. “I really appreciated it. It was a real good feeling, I can’t lie about it.”
Jones said Cumbie was at South Oak Cliff on Monday, and he is looking forward to getting better acquainted with Cumbie, head coach Kliff Kingsbury and the rest of the Red Raiders' staff this weekend, in addition to the commits and targets expected to be in attendance.
Will Jones leave Lubbock a Colorado State commitment, or will he find a home in the Big 12 before national signing day?
“I take my visit this weekend,” Jones said. “We’ll see how it goes.”
