Calvin talks TCU visit; near a decision

By Damon Sayles

The official visits are complete for rising cornerback Cydney Calvin (Frisco, Texas/Centennial). After a weekend visit to TCU, Calvin now will focus on his college decision.

A 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back, Calvin had taken visits to New Mexico (Jan. 11) and Wake Forest (Jan. 18) prior to visiting TCU this past weekend. Calvin said he enjoyed the stop in Fort Worth, Texas, and left with a lot of positives.

“It was good. They treated me like family,” Calvin said. “They said they really wanted me. All the players were cool, and the people were nice. Everything was good.”

Calvin said one of the highlights of the visit was getting better acquainted with cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings. Calvin said he and Jennings already had a good relationship, but it was even better after the visit.

“We got really close,” Calvin said. “I feel like I’ve known him for years.”

A decision now looms for Calvin, who likes all three schools he visited, in addition to FBS offers from Colorado State, UTSA and Idaho. Calvin said he hopes to make a decision later this week.
