By Damon Sayles

ESPN 150 athlete and Oregon commit Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto) is apparently ready to hit the road.

ESPN 150 ATH Dontre Wilson hasn't backed off his commitment to Oregon, but is planning one or two visits elsewhere.
Per DeSoto coach Claude Mathis, Wilson will take one official visit and is considering a second before national signing day.

Wilson, the No. 55 overall prospect in the ESPN 150, will trek to Columbus, Ohio, for an official visit to Ohio State on Jan. 25. The following week, his coach said he is strongly considering taking a visit to Oklahoma State.

“He decided to do it [Thursday] morning,” Mathis said. “He and his dad have been talking about it, and we wanted him to sleep on it.”

Mathis then gave the news to somewhat calm the stomach rumblings of Oregon fans.

“He’s still committed to Oregon,” Mathis said. “He’s just going to take his visits.”

Wilson, a four-star player who can play running back and slot receiver, has been an Oregon commit since May 25.

He is the No. 5 athlete nationally and the No. 5 player in Texas in the Class of 2013.
