WR Adeboyejo decommits from A&M
By Sam Khan Jr.
While Texas A&M gained a commitment on Sunday in the form of Dallas Jesuit linebacker and former Oklahoma commit Jordan Mastrogiovanni, the Aggies also lost one in Cedar Hill (Texas) High School receiver Quincy Adeboyejo.
The three-star receiver, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 175 pounds, tweeted, "Had to do what's best for me..." from his Twitter accounted on Sunday evening. Cedar Hill coach Joey McGuire confirmed the news of Adeboyejo's decommitment to GigEmNation.
Adeboyejo originally committed to the Aggies on March 8 along with teammate LaQuvionte Gonzalez. The pair was recruited by receivers coach David Beaty.
"He did it the right way: He talked to coach Beaty and told him that he's going to do it," McGuire said of Adeboyejo's decommitment. "He didn't feel like it was the right place for him. ... I just hope he's doing it for the right reasons."
Before Adeboyejo's decommitment, the Aggies had nine commitments in the class that could potentially wind up at receiver (five receivers, three athletes and one tight end). That number is now eight with the loss of Adeboyejo.
McGuire said one school that Adeboyejo has mentioned as one that he will likely consider is Texas Tech after the Red Raiders added former Texas A&M offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury as their head coach.
McGuire said that Adeboyejo's decommitment does not affect Gonzalez's status with Texas A&M.
