Teriyon Gipson to pick between two
By Damon Sayles
Decision day is nearing for running back Teriyon Gipson (Dallas/Kimball).
New Mexico and Colorado State are Gipson’s final two choices, and the 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior said he is looking to make a decision soon. The winning school will get a back who rushed for 1,720 yards and 21 touchdowns this season and 933 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior.
“[With] New Mexico, I like that the coaches are cool,” Gipson said. “They like running backs my size. I like the town. I know a lot of the players that are from down here.
“[With] Colorado State, I like the city. I like that the coaches are cool, and one coached both of my older brothers at Wyoming.”
Gipson hasn’t set a specific timeframe for his announcement, but he said there is a strong possibility that it could happen before the end of the week. Gipson picked up both offers on Nov. 6, but he also picked up interest from Arizona State, Washington, SMU and Louisiana-Monroe.
