First offer for Jeremy Fulcher from UNLV
By Damon Sayles
If Jeremy Fulcher (Dallas/Woodrow Wilson) had to describe the recruiting process, he’d do so with one word -- “stressful.”
For months, Fulcher had been working hard and playing for team success and scholarship offers. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back saw some of his stress relieved, as he picked up his first offer from UNLV.
“It feels real good. I just thank God,” Fulcher said. “That’s all I can do is thank God.”
Recruited by UNLV defensive coordinator J.D. Williams, Fulcher was one of the most consistent players on Woodrow Wilson’s defense this season. Fulcher hadn’t heard from UNLV, and the offer came as something of a surprise.
“[Woodrow Wilson recruiting coordinator] Coach [Adrian] Madise sent my video to them, and their recruiting coordinator told him they fell in love with me the first two plays,” Fulcher said. “It’s just a blessing that somebody showed some love to me.
“I just want to show that I can play with the best, that I’m one of the best out there. I’m a sleeper, but I feel I can play with the best athletes in my class.”
Fulcher, who has been clocked in the 40-yard dash at 4.5 seconds, has received additional interest from New Mexico, Colorado State, Nevada and Stony Brook. He can play safety or cornerback at the next level.
