After his football season completed, he started basketball season. His Lufkin (Texas) High School Panthers are still playing, entering the third round of the Texas Class 5A state playoffs on Tuesday when Lufkin meets Houston Westfield.
A couple of schools have reached out to Texas A&M commit Jamal Jeffery.
Once the hoops season concludes, Jeffery will hit the track. When asked if his legs need a break at any point, the Texas A&M commitment's answer is simple.
"No sir," he said.
Jeffery committed to the Aggies on Dec. 13. Since then, Jeffery has been focusing on the hardwood abut has been getting plenty of mail from the Texas A&M coaches.
"I've been getting a whole bunch of written letters from them," he said. "They're saying how they can't wait until I come and they want me to come to some spring practices and stuff."
The 5-foot-8, 165-pound receiver said he does intend to attend some spring practices in College Station, Texas. He also is getting mail from others as well.
"I have schools showing a lot of interest," Jeffery said. "Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, they've been sending letters to my house."
While he said it feels good to have other schools take a look at him, he said he has no plans to visit any other schools besides Texas A&M.
"I really just liked it overall," he said of A&M. "I still feel good."
