Three-star athlete Melvinson Hartfield (Dallas/South Oak Cliff) probably couldn’t have received the news about the departure of Kansas State assistant coach Michael Smith at a more inopportune time.
“To tell the truth, I was just now hearing about it,” Hartfield said, as he was boarding a flight to Manhattan, Kan., for an official visit to Kansas State.
