Dee Paul (Munday, Texas/Munday) is classified as an athlete. He wants that title to hold true not only in football but in all sports. Paul plays basketball and also competes in track and field for Munday.
As a college athlete, Paul wants to play football during the fall season and run track during the spring. That stipulation has eliminated Oklahoma State from his list of schools. Paul on Friday said he told Oklahoma State he would not be attending because he wouldn’t be allowed to participate in track and field. He competes in the mile relay, sprint relay, 300-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump.
When asked how important track and field was to him on the college level, Paul simply answered, “Very important.” Not being able to run track was a big reason why the 6-foot, 170-pound athlete -- who has 4.43-second speed in the 40-yard dash -- decommitted from SMU last month.
