Less than a week from the early junior college signing period, and it’s a crazy time for recruits and coaches.
That’s no exception for Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College and coach Rion Rhoades. But there is one recruit he doesn’t have to worry about in three-star outside linebacker Kenny Flowers.
Flowers, who is 6-foot-2 and 228 pounds, committed to Texas A&M last month and is eager to sign with the Aggies, said Rhoades.
“That’s one kid where I don’t have to deal with any coaches right now,” Rhoades said. “He is definitely going to sign with Texas A&M. He’s excited, and we’re excited for him.”
Hutchinson defensive tackle Rob Zimmerman was also committed to Texas A&M, but the Aggies told Zimmerman there was no longer a spot for him a couple of weeks ago.
That has had no lingering effect with Flowers or with Rhoades.
“Those things happen,” Rhoades said. “Texas A&M coaches have been great to deal with. We’re happy Kenny is going to get be a part of that program.”
