Norman (Okla.) North linebacker Jordan Evans really meant it. He wasn’t just blowing smoke. He wanted to wait until after Friday’s Oklahoma Class 6A state championship game before making a decision on his recruitment.
But he couldn’t wait. The anticipation of being a future Oklahoma Sooner was too much and Evans confirmed late Tuesday night he is the newest commit for OU’s 2013 class.
Evans, who is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, wasn’t on OU’s radar at this time last year. He didn’t register in the spring, either. But an impressive summer camp performance combined with an incredible senior season made the OU coaches take notice of Evans.
