Iowa State picked up commitment No. 23 for its 2013 recruiting class Sunday morning in versatile junior college athlete Rodney Coe (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Iowa Western Community College).
Coe, a 6-foot-4, 293-pound defensive end and former running back, committed to the Cyclones following an official visit to Ames, Iowa, with his teammate and current Iowa State commit, running back Aaron Wimberly. Originally from Edwardsville, Ill., Coe chose the Cyclones over offers from South Florida and Akron.
“When I look at a college, I’m looking at a good program and good facilities,” Coe said. “For me, I also based my decision on the players and how I was around them. I hung out with the players most of the time, and I felt I’d been hanging out with them for years.
