Saturday’s playoff victory against Garland, Texas, most likely will be the new highlight tape of 2014 quarterback Destri White (Mesquite, Texas/Horn).
Everything seemed to go right for White as he led Horn to a 56-35 win in the first round of the Texas Class 5A playoffs. White completed 11 of 14 passes for 286 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed 13 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, White led Horn to 543 yards of total offense.
It was the kind of game that ultimately could land White his first scholarship offer. A 6-foot, 176-pound quarterback, White has interest from Oklahoma, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor and Kansas, among others.
