California completed its season with a 62-14 loss to Oregon State, a 3-9 overall record and a five-game losing streak. Questions are now focused on whether or not head coach Jeff Tedford will keep his job.
As Cal makes decisions, linebacker Chad Whitener (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) said he will wait patiently and prepare accordingly. Whitener, a three-star inside linebacker, said he will continue to monitor the situation with all of the coaches on staff -- including Cal linebackers coach Kenwick Thompson -- but for the time being, he remains a Golden Bears commitment.
Whether or not Whitener, the No. 53 inside linebacker in the class of 2013, will remain a firm commitment hinges on Tedford’s future.
