Few football players personify the “athlete” tag like 2014 Armani Watts (Forney, Texas/North Forney). Watts leads his team in all passing and rushing statistics and total touchdowns. He also ranks second in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
UCLA was one of the teams to take notice of the 6-foot, 180-pound standout, and on Sunday, the Bruins became the first team to offer him. Watts plays as many as six positions for North Forney, but he might be most comfortable at either safety or wide receiver.
“It feels pretty good right now,” said Watts, who is being recruited by UCLA passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin. “I talked to Coach Martin and said they were giving me a full ride. I just smiled and was excited.
