At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Charles Woods (Kilgore, Texas/Kilgore College) is versatile enough to play outside linebacker, inside linebacker and safety. His versatility has been a major factor in Kilgore’s 6-0 start and No. 5 ranking in the NJCAA poll.
Woods’ versatility also has been a pain in the side of opposing teams. The sophomore, originally from Humble, Texas, has 51 tackles on the season and he’s also forced five fumbles, recovering two.
“A lot of the players on the team say I’m a playmaker,” Woods said. “That’s one of my attributes. When a play come s to me, I try to make the best of it.
