ATH Rickey Daniels working for first offer

Earlier this month, DeSoto (Texas) head coach Claude Mathis called athlete Rickey Daniels “a major sleeper” on the recruiting circuit. As talented as the 5-foot-9, 163-pound athlete is, he’s still yet to receive an offer.

“Whoever picks him up,” Mathis said, “is going to get a player. He can do it all.”

Mathis has asked Daniels to be that all-everything player as DeSoto prepares for the 2012 season. In 2011, Daniels was the Eagles’ leading receiver, catching 42 passes for 548 yards and three touchdowns in the slot. Daniels said he is entering the upcoming season ready to line up at receiver and running back on offense and both cornerback and safety on defense.
