A central Texas 1-2 punch has become Texas State’s new 1-2 punch.
After Stephenville (Texas) quarterback Tyler Jones committed to the Bobcats on Tuesday, his favorite target, ESPN 300 receiver Brice Gunter, decided to follow suit. Gunter verbally committed to Texas State on Wednesday, becoming the Bobcats’ second commitment of the 2013 recruiting class.
A four-star receiver, Gunter chose Texas State over an offer from Air Force and interest from Baylor, Texas Tech, Houston, Tulsa, TCU and SMU. Recruited by defensive tackles coach Reuben Vaughn, Gunter is No. 173 in the ESPN 300.
